Artificial Intelligence (AI) is increasingly present in the tools we use to learn, communicate and solve problems. TechAI introduces learners in Classes 1 to 8 to technology through familiar examples, clear explanations and engaging activities. It encourages them to explore how AI works, where it is used and why human judgement remains essential.
CBSE has launched a Curriculum Framework for Computational Thinking (CT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) for Classes 3 to 8 for the academic session 2026–27. The AI syllabus for Classes 6 to 8 is aligned with this new curriculum. Across the series, learners develop logical thinking, systematic problem-solving skills and an understanding of the responsible use of AI.
Computational Thinking is a structured approach to solving problems through decomposition, pattern recognition, abstraction and algorithmic thinking. A dedicated CT section in Classes 3 to 8 helps learners practise these techniques through age-appropriate challenges and develop clear, logical solutions.
Hands-on tasks invite learners to observe patterns, work with data, test ideas and use AI tools to support their learning. They also learn to question AI-generated answers and consider privacy, fairness, bias and the responsible use of technology. Activities linked to the Sustainable Development Goals encourage them to apply these ideas to challenges beyond the classroom.
TechAI reflects the emphasis on experiential learning, creativity and critical thinking in the National Education Policy 2020 and the National Curriculum Framework 2023. It aims to help learners become curious, confident and responsible digital citizens who use AI thoughtfully while relying on their own reasoning and judgement.
